The GTM Research Reserve offers you an opportunity to follow the wooded trail to the Matanzas River at the River-to-Sea Preserve. An interpretive guide will tell you about old Florida\u2019s moss-laden trees, seasonal flowering shrubs, and Native American lore, including how they used various plants for food, beverage, and medicine.\u00a0The event is free, but online registration is required.<\/p>\n

Is there a parking fee?<\/strong><\/p>\n

No.<\/p>\n

Are there public restrooms?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Yes.<\/p>\n

What should I wear?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Wear appropriate clothing for the outdoors. Dressing in layers and preparing for any type of weather is recommended. Closed-toe shoes, not flip-flops, are encouraged.<\/p>\n

What should I bring?<\/strong><\/p>\n

A reusable water bottle (that can be filled up onsite), insect repellent (strongly recommended), sunscreen, and binoculars\/cameras are suggested.<\/p>\n

Are trails accessible for strollers?<\/strong><\/p>\n

The trails are not paved and have loose sand. Only strollers with big rugged, all-terrain wheels are recommended.<\/p>\n

Can I bring my dog?<\/strong><\/p>\n

Family pets\/dogs cannot join the educational hikes, as they may distract participants and disrupt native wildlife.<\/p>\n
