From sunset oysters to spooky trails, marine mammal science, and moonlit adventures, we hope you’ll join us for one—or all—of these upcoming programs.
Shuck Yeah! I ❤️ Estuaries
Friday, September 18 | 6:00–9:00 PM | GTM Visitor Center
Join us for a sunset oyster roast and Low Country boil in celebration of National Estuaries Week. Shuck Yeah! brings together fresh oysters by Get Shuckin’, a Low Country boil feast, live music by Sea Level, craft cocktails, beer and wine, coastal games, and one great purpose: supporting conservation, education, and research at the GTM Research Reserve.
North Atlantic Right Whales & Bottlenose Dolphins
September 30–November 4 | Six-Week Educational Course
Dive into the fascinating world of two iconic marine mammals with this six-week course led by Terran McGinnis, founder of Wild Lessons. Participants will explore the lives of North Atlantic right whales and bottlenose dolphins through expert presentations, film discussion, local research, and a guided sunset beach walk.
Moonlight Hike
Saturday, September 26 | GTM Research Reserve
Experience GTM in a whole new light during one of our popular Moonlight Hikes. This after-hours, self-guided hike offers a peaceful way to explore the trails under the evening sky and enjoy the sights and sounds of the estuary after dark.
Space is limited for this special program, so advance registration is encouraged.
ESTUSCARY Haunted Trail
October 29–31 | South Beach Access Parking Lot
This Halloween season, the estuary gets a little spooky. ESTUSCARY returns for three nights of haunted trail fun, decorated trunks, candy, hayrides, costumes, and coastal-themed surprises.
Recommended for ages 10 and up, this family-friendly Halloween event is a fun way to experience GTM after dark. Closed-toe shoes are recommended, and costumes are encouraged.
